Lockon Aviation Photography

The photos on this site were taken over a period from about 1988 to present. My interests originally included mostly military subjects, however as the military phased out bright colors in favor of Low-Viz paint schemes, I started to gain more interest in Civil Airliners and other non-military subjects.

Cameras: Nikon. Over the years I have used Nikon N2000, 8008s, N90s and F100 film bodies. Lenses have ranged from marginal non-Nikon lenses to an assortment of Nikon lenses including the workhorse 80-400 VR lens. As of June 2012 the well used Nikon D200 is retired and I now use the Nikon D800 with the 80-400 VR and 18-200 VRII lenses.

Film Photos: Prior to digital I used Fuji Provia 100F & Kodachrome 25 and 64 film . Slides were scanned with a Nikon Coolscan 4000ED and Vuescan software. Many older images were scanned with the Minolta Scan Dual II.
