™ Star Alliance

The Star Alliance is a global partnership of airlines. Each member airline is required to paint a percentage of their fleet in a Star Alliance paint scheme to show and promote their membership in the alliance.

This page is dedicated to tracking the fleet of Star Alliance livery aircraft.

The original alliance members each painted one aircraft that had other members colors wrapped around the fuselage (for example UAL's 767). The member airline's paint scheme appeared first on the fuselage followed by the other members paint schemes. As the alliance grew you can see that the original wrap around scheme was replaced by the "postage stamp" scheme (for example ANA's 767). To celebrate its new membership, Star Alliance introduced a new billboard livery that is somewhat less colorful than the previous schemes; however, far more practical given the growing number of member airlines. Painting of aircraft in the new scheme began in late 2002. The billboard livery has some variants including the White Tail aircraft and Singapore Airlines hybrid scheme. Some white tail aircraft appear to be temporary schemes pending repaint, lease or sale of an aircraft.
